Woman in a boiler roomSilicon Valley Power offers scholarship to eligible customers who complete the Building Operator Certification (BOC) Training program. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • meet all eligibility criteria for the BOC training program as outlined on its website
  • operate a qualifying facility within the Santa Clara city limits receiving electricity from Silicon Valley Power
  • commit to completing the training program
  • not have been previously enrolled in the same training program under scholarship from Silicon Valley Power

Participants who have previously achieved Level I certification may apply for a scholarship for the Level II certification. For details on the BOC training program, visit theboc.info/building-operator-training/boc-eligibility.

Scholarships provide a $500 discount off the registration rate. Silicon Valley Power will provide reimbursement for the remainder of the course fee upon completion within the required period, up to 100% of the cost.

All courses are held online. Review the course schedule on the BOC website to ensure you are available to attend the classes. Obtain approval from your management before submitting a scholarship application.

Submit completed Scholarship Application to savemoney@siliconvalleypower.com. Include the subject line “BOC Scholarship Application” in your email. Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis and must specify the class start date. Scholarships are limited to one person per organization when class space is limited.

Eligible courses for this scholarship include:

  • BOC Level I (PG&E course only)
  • BOC Level II (California course or PG&E Course)
