All solar photovoltaic (PV), energy storage systems, and back-up generation/rotating machines must comply with Silicon Valley Power's Engineering & Operating Requirements. To energize your system, Silicon Valley Power must first provide Permission to Operate (PTO).  Review the documents below to help facilitate your interconnection.

  • SD 1630 Initial Review Process for Application to Interconnect Generating Facilities

  • SD 1631 Engineering & Operating Requirements for the Interconnection of Generating Facilities

  • SVP-DP-001 Distributed Generation Protection Requirements

  • Appendix A Notes to be shown in electrical drawings

All solar photovoltaic (PV) or energy storage systems (ESS) must receive pre-approval from Silicon Valley Power prior to applying for building permits. Pre-approval will be issued once the project has passed Silicon Valley Power’s application review

Register for an account with our Interconnection Application System through PowerClerk to begin the interconnection application.

Note: If you already have an account with PowerClerk, you do not need to register again. You may add Silicon Valley Power through the Settings Menu.
